SWORDCRAFT PRESS KIT

Swordcraft is a Live Action Roleplay not-for-profit organisation. Live Action Roleplay, or LARP for short, is a game in which participants create characters and participate in narratives through the use of costumes and props - such as realistic foam-latex weapons. Swordcraft: Blood and Gold is a LARP set in the medieval fantasy world of Warhammer Fantasy, and follows the story-line of the Border Lands.

 

Unlike many other LARPs, Swordcraft began primarily as a Battle Game, where players engage in safe close-combat, emulating large-scale medieval battles. Although not compulsory, players are encouraged to wear suitable armour as a means of protection as well as aesthetics.

HISTORY

Since Swordcraft's inception in 2011, we have seen our community grow into Australia's largest Live Action Roleplay and Battle Gaming event, consisting of thousands of players all over Australia. What was once a simple Friday-night battle game, Swordcraft now additionally hosts weekend and a huge week-long LARP camp events a year. These annual events, known as Quest, draw over 500 players.
